Assigning Shortcut Keys to WinHelp Commands

Assigning a shortcut key to a command.

So you dislike clicking on toolbars... why not assign shortcut keys for your commands!

NOTE: If a command is already in use (for example, Ctrl + O is assigned to File: Open), you cannot assign it to another action without first disabling the keyboard command.

To assign Ctrl+Alt+X keyboard shortcut to ParaKeepWithNext command, try this:

  1. Choose View: Toolbars: Customize.

  2. Click the Keyboard button tip9901c1.jpg (1351 bytes)

  3. Under Save changes in choose Robohelp.dot tip9901c2.jpg (2597 bytes).

  4. Under Categories choose All Commands.

  5. Under Commands choose ParaKeepWithNext. tip9901c4.jpg (29858 bytes)
    Note that no shortcut key is assigned to this command because none are listed in the Current keys field.

  6. Click in the Press new shortcut key field and on the keyboard press Ctrl + Alt +X key. Alt+Ctrl+X is entered into the Current keys field.

  7. Click the Assign button.tip9901c3.jpg (1205 bytes) The shortcut is entered into the Current keys field

  8. Close and Close again.
