ActiveEdit is a feature in RoboHELP Classic that allows you to "actively edit" a help topic during development. You enable ActiveEdit in Project Settings. It is designed as an aid to Help authors during the testing and debugging process.
When you turn on ActiveEdit, RoboHELP attaches an additional button (ActiveEdit) to the windows button bar in the compiled Help system. The ActiveEdit button allows you to quickly jump from the compiled Help file directly into the source topic to make any necessary corrections on the spot. Note the Active Edit button to the right of the button bar below.
