Saving a "Centered" table as AutoText

Because a Centered table is not a standard setting in Microsoft Word you probably want to save this table as AutoText and attach it to the Robohelp.dot template file for use in other Help projects. The instructions are below:

  1. Select the table you created in the How to topic.

  2. Choose Insert: AutoText: AutoText on the Microsoft Word menu.

  3. In the Look in field choose the Robohelp.dot (global template) and type an identifying name (i.e. "1x1x1") as below and click Add

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. When prompted to update the Robohelp.dot file click Yes.

  7. The next time you want to place the table into a help topic you simply type your AutoText entry (1x1x1) and press F3, or you can select it from the list of available AutoText entries on the Microsoft Word menu.

That's all for this month. If you have some cool idea you know about and would like to share it with me for a future tip, please send me an e-mail.
