In this month's tip you learn some pointers for creating effective hyperlink graphics. One recent student wanted to make a three-tab dialog box interactive (see the example that follows).
You can actually do this by creating three topics and three screen shots (one for each tab). You then segment each graphic so it jumps to the other topics.
For example, lets say you have three Help topics: Overview, Using Help, and Navigating; you also create the same named SHG (WinHelp) or GIF (HTML-Help) files for each of the tabs using a screen capture utility.
Using the Image Workshop, open the Overview.BMP file and segment the regions over the "other" two tabs (Using Help, Navigating).
Place the image onto the appropriate topic and recompile.
To the users it appears as they are clicking tabs, but they are actually navigating to separate topics
