Preview Window Bug

Another bug in RoboHelp 2002 prevents you from using the Back feature from the Preview window. This is a problem if you must test several hyperlinks, since there's no way to back up and test additional links without closing and reopening the preview window.

The tip below, shows you a workaround to the Preview Window Bug.

  1. To replicate the problem, open any topic in RoboHelp HTML containing a hyperlink.

  2. Click the View  button on the Project toolbar.

  3. Click a link on the topic.

  4. Right-click the Preview window.
    Note that the Back button is disabled.

  5. Close the Preview window.

Workaround to Back Button Bug

  1. Choose Tools: Options: HTML Editors.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Type Internet Explorer.

  4. Click Set Path.

  5. Click the ellipse  button.

  6. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer.

  7. Select iexplorer.exe and click Open.

  8. Click OK.

Previewing a Topic Using Internet Explorer.

  1. Right-click any topic on the HTML Files (Topics) folder.

  2. Choose Edit With: Internet Explorer.

  3. Click any link.

  4. Right-click the Preview screen and choose Back.

  5. Close the Preview window.
