This month you learn about the Hidden attribute found in HTML Help ActiveX
Control dialog boxes. In the image below, the Hidden
(for scripts) option appears when creating ALinks, KLinks, Shortcuts,
Related Topics, WinHelp Topics, and Close Window controls.

When creating a new HTML Help control, you have the option of creating either a standard Text button, an Image, or a Hidden control that activates through a custom script. The purpose behind the Hidden attribute is to provide alternative methods of activating the ActiveX control. For example, you can execute a specific command as a topic launches (much like a WinHelp topic entry macro), or you can activate the control using a hyperlink, rather than a button or an image.
This month's tip uses two hidden ActiveX controls: a Related Topics control to launch an HTML Help topic into a secondary window, and a Shortcut control to launch an application from the Table of Contents or Index.
