Before going any further, back up your HTML Help project and, most importantly, backup the project ALI file. The Alias file contains all the mapping information used for Context Sensitive Help. The next step actually resets the ALI file and all mapping information will be lost. Once you finish this step you must restore the original ALI file.
This procedure can also be used if you encounter a corrupt MPJ file.
Open Windows Explorer.
Backup your ALI file.
In Windows Explorer, double
click the .HHP file.
This launches RoboHelp.
When prompted to use the
existing MPJ file, click NO.

Clicking NO reconstructs the MPJ file.
Clicking NO also resets the ALI file.
NOTE: When the MPJ file is recreated, the Binary TOC setting
may have been turned OFF.
When the project opens, choose File: Project Settings.
Turn on
Binary TOC (required only for Next and Previous button functionality).

Click OK.
Open Windows Explorer and restore the original ALI file (sample.ali) into the project.
Overwrite
the newer ALI file with the older
ALI.

The older Alias (June 3) file contains the original, and correct, alias
information.
Switch back to RoboHelp.
Recompile
and Run Help.

In the example, both RoboHelp Browse Sequences, and the Previous /
Next buttons are enabled. It
may not be necessary to have both types of sequencing buttons enabled
on a Help file.
That's it for this month's tip!!
